About the Journal

Crossroads is a peer reviewed, open access scholarly journal that is published by the Indiana Library Federation (ILF) in partnership with Indiana Academic Library Association (IALA), Indiana Black Librarians Network (IBLN), Academic Libraries of Indiana (ALI), and Private Academic Library Network of Indiana (PALNI). It supports the mission of ILF to lead, educate, and advocate to advance library services for the benefit of Indiana residents by publishing high-quality scholarship that supports Indiana libraries. As Indiana is the Crossroads of America, it is the goal of this journal to be the Crossroads of Indiana Librarianship.  Crossroads is the successor to Indiana Librariesthe former journal of the Indiana Library Federation.

Crossroads accepts a variety of submission types from current, former, and future librarians, information professionals, and LIS graduate students from all sectors of librarianship (academic, public, school, specialty). The scope of suitable topics is intentionally broad so as to encompass most topics that touch upon the study, practices, and policies of librarianship that impact Indiana libraries, Indiana librarians and information professionals, and Indiana library patrons. Possible topics include, inter alia: access; advocacy; best practices; history; management; public, state, and federal policy; technology; trends; user experience; and many more. If authors are uncertain as to the suitability of a specific topic, please submit a 300-word abstract to the editorial board for review at crossroads@ilfonline.org.

To facilitate dialogue and collaborative scholarship, Crossroads accepts and encourages submissions from contributors living and practicing outside of Indiana.
